MFF looks to compete with European and Asian manufacturers
Momaizah Metal Fabrication Factory (MFF) Group of Saudi Arabia has grown significantly in the last 40 years. What started as a small manufacturing company with about 10 employees has expanded to 140 employees. The factory now sits on a 7000sq metre site.
MFF manufactures multiple lines of furniture and equipment, such as lab systems, sports and playground equipment, and metal fabrication. The company’s laboratory furniture systems are designed for use in the industrial, educational, scientific, and medical fields and adhere to the SEFA-recommended production and testing procedures.
Superior quality and adherence to internationally-accepted standards have assisted MFF in maintaining a strong and ever-expanding client base, including Saudi Aramco, Sabic, Sabic affiliated companies in Jubail and Yanbu, Yanpet, Ma’aden, Shell Refinery (SASREF), Procter & Gamble, KFUPM, Bahrain University, Forensic evidence labs, and many others.
Shadman Rashid, MFF Group’s owner and CEO, shared: “We design our products ourselves. We have an R&D where we develop our products and have made many improvements in the products we are making.
“Since 30 to 35 years ago, for example, when we started our fume hood, it has come a long way. It meets all international standards for safety. All our products are also certified with manufacturers’ certificates and third-party certificates.
“For example, if there is a tender to supply fume wood, and if our price is 10 to 15 per cent higher than the imported ones, the government will award the tender to us and support our product.”
Quality speaks for itself
Industrial cities like Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh have excellent infrastructure, and this complements the investment atmosphere in Saudi Arabia.
“We are part of this process where we are developing ourselves, and the government is also developing with us. So it is a mutual understanding and mutual development for the local industry.
“And of course, with the Vision 2030 that Saudi Arabia has, we are looking forward to competing with many other companies, whether they are from Europe or Asia. Our quality competes and speaks for itself.”
Currently, MFF’s biggest clientele comes from within Saudi Arabia. They have exported products to Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar and Jordan. The company has also expanded its market in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Africa.
Shadman Rashid said he looks forward to expanding production to new markets in neighbouring countries.
Apart from having some of its products made in Malaysia, MFF also collaborates with three Malaysian suppliers, who supply it with most of its fixtures, trespa and rubber tiles for their playground equipment. All the companies are registered with Saudi Aramco. – The Health
