The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) recently organised the Climate Resilience Conference 2023 (CRC23) with the theme “Climate Crunch: Navigating Risks and Opportunities in the Takaful and Insurance Sector” at the Asia School of Business.
The conference brought together industry leaders, experts and stakeholders to gauge the requirements for Climate Risk Management and Scenario Analysis (CRMSA) and enhance financial institutions’ resilience against climate-related risks.
The conference also served as a platform to dispense the Takaful and insurance professionals with the necessary knowledge and readiness for the CRMSA Policy Documents.
“The Climate Resilience Conference 2023 serves as a platform for MTA to showcase its commitment to fostering sustainability within the industry. By addressing climate-related risks and opportunities, MTA aims to guide the Takaful industry towards a resilient and sustainable future,” said MTA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mohd Radzuan Mohamed.
The CRC23 also symbolises the initiative brought by MTA to cultivate a proactive approach in addressing the escalating risks posed by climate change within the Takaful industry.
The CRC23 laid the groundwork for experts to promote methods to deal with climate issues in the takaful and insurance industries. MTA hopes that the conference will enable the industry to prepare for the changes in climate risk.
