“We utilise the Ramadan momentum for our largest programme, the World #QuranHour under the Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation. The World #QuranHour is conducted during Ramadan, typically organised on the last 10 nights,” said the Manager of Religious Affairs & Quranic Administration, Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation, Ahmad Yani Abd Manaf.
“For this year, we will host the World #QuranHour on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur. We invite the public to attend and participate in this programme. It’s not limited to just one location but many. In previous years, especially in 2019, we achieved significant internet reach with 1.4 billion shares on social media in 70 countries. We aim to engage the public not only in participation but also in hosting and sharing on their social media platforms.”
WUIF was founded to tackle social issues within the Muslim community arising from a lack of Quranic understanding. The foundation runs campaigns to promote Quran literacy, including initiatives like #QuranHour—a one-hour programme encouraging the public to read, contemplate, and internalise the teachings of Quranic verses for at least one hour.-
