Sarawak Energy initiated several tree-planting activities to promote sustainable environmental conservation across its assets, facilities and project areas in the State.

The 1RAS 1Pokok Campaign was also launched by Sarawak Energy and the Department of Environment (DOE) Sarawak on Earth Day 2022.

The Ramin Telor/Ramin Melawis tree is critically endangered, and the company has worked with UNIMAS and Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) to protect it through the Ramin Conservation and Restoration Project.

This fits the company’s intention to plant and/or protect half a million Sarawak trees between 2021 and 2030 as part of a 10-year, company-wide integrated tree-planting campaign.

Sejingkat Power Plant

The Sejingkat Power Station (SPS) team of Sarawak Energy spearheaded a 10-year Integrated Tree Planting, Protection, and Habitat Restoration Campaign, planting 520 mangrove trees along their coastline.

Batang Ai Tree Planting, Protection, and Habitat Restoration

Sarawak Energy began the initiative to reforest, preserve, and restore the natural environment of Batang Ai. Through this initiative, businesses receive assistance in planting trees. The Batang Ai crew has planted 1,500 trees to establish or conserve 3,000 trees by the end of the year.

Bunut Substation

In support of Sarawak Energy’s ongoing corporate tree-planting programme, a tree-planting event was held at the Bunut substation’s grounds.

Balingan Power Generation PG and Legal, Land & Cosec Department (LLC) Tree Planting Programme

Sabal Forest Reserve Tree-Planting Programme

A tree-planting ceremony was staged by Sarawak Energy in the Sabal Forest Reserve as part of the company’s 10-Year Integrated Tree Planting, Protection, and Habitat Restoration Campaign.

Over 200 volunteers from Sarawak Energy and FDS helped plant 1,100 native tree seedlings.

Rumah Seri Kenangan Tree Planting

The Corporate Social Responsibility team from Sarawak Energy and i-CATS University College collaborated to plant trees in the Rumah Seri Kenangan garden. The relationship between Sarawak Energy and i-CATS was strengthened through the programme, honouring the elders of Rumah Seri Kenangan.
